Molly Olshin is a visual artist born and raised in Philadelphia. Molly’s recent body of work reflects her interest in transformation, recovery, trial and error, discontentment, and personal growth. Most of her work focuses on using the process of making art as a therapeutic experience, while incorporating her interest in street art, Abstract Expressionism, and the use of mixed media. Molly has participated in five “Eagles Paint Day’s” with the Mural Arts Program starting in 2014. She also participated in a wheat paste mural on front and queen streets in Philadelphia with Fleisher Art Memorial in 2016. In the summer of 2017, she worked with muralist David McShane painting the Lewis Elkins School. During summer 2018, Molly did an internship with Mural Arts Porch Light Program at the Kensington Storefront and also at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital as an Art Therapy intern. At Moore College of Art and Design, she has two paintings on loan hanging in the business office and in the fashion department. As of June 2019 Molly works at a program of Horizon House as an Administrative Assistant. Molly has received scholarships from Moore College of Art and Design, including “Academic Dean's Scholarship”, “Housing Scholarship”, and “Youth Program Scholarship”. Molly is currently working on get a Masters in social work at Temple University.
